FIRST NATIONS INITIAITVES
Discover ancestral wisdom, contemporary vision, and enduring legacy.
At Heritage Lanes, First Nations cultures aren't an addition to our story – it is our story. Built on Meanjin, this place of connection, we honour the Traditional Owners whose knowledge has shaped this land for generations.
Ancient wisdom lives here. Our spaces reflect and encourage deep cultural understanding – from Rachael Sarra's Guidance from the Stars illuminating pathways above, to our bush tucker garden where traditional knowledge continues to nourish and teach.
Contemporary vision guides us. Through meaningful partnerships with First Nations artists, cultural practitioners, and communities, we create spaces where ancestral knowledge informs modern life. Our Storytelling Disks, developed with Aunty Kerry Charlton of the Yagarubul/Nunukul Yuggera mob, weave together past and present.
Legacy shapes tomorrow. NAIDOC Week 2025 celebrates The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy. But for us, this celebration continues every day – in every artwork, every native plant, every story shared within these walls.
Here, connection to Country isn't just acknowledged – it's lived, experienced, and honoured as the foundation of everything we do.
Explore our art collection, wander the bush tucker garden, discover the Storytelling Disks, and join programming that celebrates Australia's First Peoples.
Heritage Lanes acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we operate and pays respect to Elders past and present. We celebrate the rich cultural heritage that continues to thrive and evolve, and we're committed to fostering genuine partnerships and understanding with First Nations' people and communities.
